1,000 free WhatsApp replies per number, every month
From 1 October 2026 WhatsApp gives every phone number 1,000 free service replies a month and charges only from the 1,001st. Your billing page counts them per number, and the pricing estimator lets you say how many numbers you have.

WhatsApp is charging for replies from 1 October 2026 — but not for the first 1,000 you send from each number every month. We now count them for you, number by number, so you can see exactly where you stand.
What's changing on WhatsApp's side
- Every phone number gets 1,000 free replies a month. A reply is a message you send back to a customer who messaged you first — by an agent or by an automation.
- Only the 1,001st onward is charged, at your market's utility rate. Below that, WhatsApp charges you nothing for the message itself.
- The count is per number, not per business. Two numbers, two separate allowances.
- It refreshes every month and does not carry over. Anything you don't use by the month end is gone; you start again from nothing on the 1st.
What we've done for you
- Your billing page counts them, per number. Under your wallet you'll see a line for each of your WhatsApp numbers — "412 of 1,000 free replies used this month" — so a busy number and a quiet one are never averaged together.
- A free reply still costs only the small platform fee. WhatsApp charges nothing for it and we don't add its cost to your bill, so what leaves your wallet is our per-message fee and the GST on it — a fraction of a rupee. Your billing history says which replies were inside the allowance and which were charged in full.
- The "≈ replies left" estimate understands the difference. It counts your remaining free replies at the small fee first, and only then at the full per-message price, so the figure stops being pessimistic.
- The pricing estimator asks how many numbers you have. Set it between 1 and 50 and the monthly estimate spreads your volume across their combined free allowance before charging anything.
- Nothing to do on the day. The switch happens on its own when WhatsApp's October rates go live.
- Replies sent by Meta Business Agent are priced separately and are not part of this count.
