Canned snippets

Save reply shortcuts and insert them in a chat by typing a slash.

Canned snippets are saved reply shortcuts, so you can answer common questions in seconds without retyping.

Steps

  1. Open the conversation you want to reply to.
  2. Click into the message box.
  3. Type / to open your snippet list.
  4. Pick the snippet you need.
  5. Fill in any placeholders it includes.
  6. Press Send.

Create and reuse snippets

Save replies you send often, such as your address, opening hours or a delivery update. Snippets can include placeholders so you fill in the specifics each time. Unlike templates, snippets are for replies inside the 24-hour window and don't need WhatsApp approval.

If it doesn't work

  • If nothing appears when you type /, make sure your cursor is in the message box.
  • If a snippet is missing, add it from your snippet settings and it will be ready next time.
  • If you're outside the 24-hour window, use an approved template instead.
