Create a template
Build a message template, add placeholders and submit it to WhatsApp for approval.
A template is a reusable message that WhatsApp approves before you can send it. Build it once and reuse it for every customer.
Steps
- Open Templates in WA.cr.
- Start a new template.
- Give it a name, category and language.
- Write the body, adding placeholders like {{1}} where details change.
- Optionally add a header and buttons.
- Submit it to WhatsApp for review.
What the placeholders do
Placeholders such as {{1}} and {{2}} are filled in when you send, so one template works for many customers. For example, "Hi {{1}}, your order {{2}} is ready" becomes a personal message each time.
Approved or Rejected
After you submit, the template shows Approved or Rejected. Approved templates are ready to send; rejected ones can be edited and resubmitted.
If it doesn't work
- If it's rejected, simplify the wording and remove anything promotional, then resubmit.
- If approval is slow, wait a little; WhatsApp reviews each template before it goes live.
- If a placeholder won't save, make sure you used the {{1}} format with double braces.
