Complete your WhatsApp billing setup
Add a payment method in WhatsApp Manager so WhatsApp will deliver your messages.
Your number can be connected and still not send messages until WhatsApp has a payment method on file. This is set up on WhatsApp's own billing page, not in WA.cr. It takes a couple of minutes.
Steps
- Open the WhatsApp Manager Overview at business.facebook.com/wa/manage/home.
- Click Add payment method.
- Complete the payment flow and save.
- Return to WA.cr — once WhatsApp accepts the payment method, messaging activates automatically.
Meta's own step-by-step guide is here: Add a payment method to your WhatsApp Business account.
Why you're seeing this
WA.cr shows an "Action required" banner when WhatsApp tells us one of two things:
- Your account is approved but billing setup is still pending — you haven't added a payment method yet.
- A message was rejected because of a billing or payment issue on your WhatsApp account.
Until billing is set up, WhatsApp won't deliver your messages, so the banner stays until it's resolved.
Before you start
- Use the same Meta/Facebook account that owns your WhatsApp Business account.
- Have a valid card or supported payment method ready.
- You'll need admin access to the business in WhatsApp Manager.
After you add it
- The "Action required" banner clears on its own once your next message goes through.
- You don't need to reconnect your number or re-enter anything in WA.cr.
- If the banner is still there after a few minutes, send a test message and refresh the page.
If it doesn't work
- If WhatsApp Manager won't load, make sure you're signed in to the right Meta/Facebook account.
- If your payment method is declined, try a different card or contact your bank.
- If messages still fail after billing is added, reach out to support so we can check your account status.
