Bring your own number

Already manage a WhatsApp Business number elsewhere? Connect it to WA.cr.

If you already run a WhatsApp Business number somewhere else, you can bring it into WA.cr instead of creating a new one. You keep your number and your history stays with WhatsApp.

Steps

  1. Open Settings, then Connect WhatsApp.
  2. Choose Bring your own number.
  3. Sign in with the account that manages this number.
  4. Confirm you have admin access when prompted.
  5. Enter the code WhatsApp sends to finish linking.
  6. Wait for "Connected" and send a test message.

Good to know

A few points help this go smoothly.

  • You must be an admin of the number you're bringing.
  • The number must be verified before you can send.
  • You can move it back out later if you ever need to.

If it doesn't work

  • If sign-in fails, check you're using the managing account.
  • If it says the number is in use, remove it from the other tool first.
  • If linking stalls, wait a few minutes and try once more.
