Choose how each number answers
A switch on each line's settings screen moves a number between a call menu and an AI voice agent — no need to ask us any more.
Released 28 August 2026
Every rented number answers a call in one of two ways — with a call menu, or with an AI voice agent. Until now, switching between them meant asking us. Now it's a switch on the line's own screen.
What's new
- How this line answers, on each line's settings screen, now shows both ways side by side — with what each one still needs before it can answer.
- A number that hasn't been pointed anywhere yet says so plainly: it is still forwarding WhatsApp's verification call, which is a setup aid and stops after five answered calls.
- Switching takes effect from the next call, and deletes nothing: the menu and the agent stay saved, and switching back restores them.
- Publishing a call menu that no number answers with yet now tells you so, and takes you straight to the line to point it.
- The Call log links on a number's card and on the Voice agents page now open the log already filtered to that number.
Worth knowing
- A way of answering you haven't finished setting up answers callers with a short, polite apology rather than dead air — on purpose. The switch asks you to confirm before you pick one of those.
- Verification forwarding keeps working even where voice calling is off for the workspace — it belongs to the number's rental.
- The full story is in What your rented number can do, with guides for the verification call, call menus and voice agents in the new Calls & numbers section.
