Your Maps key is tested on its own
Settings → Maps now judges your own Google Maps key on its own answers — a rejected key can no longer be shown as working because another workspace's key answered the same address.

If you bring your own Google Maps key, Settings → Maps now tells you about your key and nothing else.
What's new
- A rejected key is no longer reported as working. Recent address lookups are remembered for a while so the same address is not charged twice. That memory was shared across every workspace using Google, so a key that Google had refused could be handed a remembered answer instead — and the page showed Type-ahead on over a key that had actually stopped working. The remembered answers are now kept per key, so a key that Google refuses is refused on the page too.
- Test reports your own key. Because the answer could come from elsewhere, Test could report a success your key had no part in. It now only ever passes when your key itself answered.
- Nothing gets slower. Workspaces on the shared WA.cr key still share one memory between them, which is what keeps address search free for most people. The free OpenStreetMap option is unchanged.
If your address search is working today, you will not notice any difference — this only changes what you are told when a key is broken.
