Your team's Google calendar blocks a booking slot
Whatever is already in a staff member's Google calendar now stops the booking page offering that time under their name — and every booking you take can be written into their calendar automatically.

The two Google Calendar switches in your booking setup have been there since the start, and neither of them did anything. Both work now.
What's new
- Block out times from Google. Whatever is already in a staff member's Google calendar is treated exactly like a booking in your diary. The school run, a dentist appointment, a meeting nobody wrote down — the booking page and the console simply stop offering those times under that person's name.
- Write bookings into Google. Every booking you take becomes an event in that person's calendar: the service and the customer's name in the title, their number, email address and any note in the description, and your location line if you have set one. Cancel the booking and the event goes away again.
Both are under Settings → Appointments → Google Calendar, both stay off until you turn them on, and each staff member needs their own calendar chosen against their name before either one reaches them.
Worth knowing
- One person's calendar only ever blocks that person's times. A busy afternoon in one diary never closes the whole team's.
- Google is never allowed to close your shop. If Google is slow, the account gets disconnected, or a calendar is un-shared, the booking page carries on offering your own diary's free times rather than showing nothing at all. The worst case is a clash you can see and move — not a day of lost bookings.
- A booking is never lost because Google refused it. The appointment is taken and confirmed first, and the calendar written afterwards. If that write fails, the booking still stands and records why — nothing is retried on its own, so a booking you want mirrored after a failure is one to add by hand.
- The customer is not invited to the event. Your confirmation email already carries a calendar invite of its own; inviting them again would send a second one from your Google account.
- Completed and no-show leave the event alone — it happened, and the calendar keeps saying so. Only a cancellation removes it. Turning the mirror off later does not empty your calendar either; events already written stay put.
