WA.cr

You hear about planned downtime before it starts

When maintenance is planned on a service your workspace uses, WA.cr now tells you in advance — a banner in your console and one email to the owners — instead of you finding out when something stops working.

Released 1 September 2026

Planned maintenance is no longer a surprise: when a window is scheduled on a service your workspace actually uses, you get a banner in your console ahead of time and an email to the workspace owners.

What's new

  • A heads-up in the console. A notice appears at the top of your workspace from the moment it is announced, saying which service is affected, when the window opens, how long it runs, and what to expect while it does.
  • And a reminder while it is happening. When the window actually opens the banner changes to Maintenance in progress, so anyone who logs in during it can see straight away why something is slow or unavailable.
  • One email to the owners. Publishing a notice also emails the workspace owners once, so a team that is not logged in that week still finds out. Editing and re-publishing the same notice never mails anyone twice.
  • Only what affects you. Notices go only to workspaces that use the service in question — a voice window never alarms a WhatsApp-only workspace.
  • Clear times, spelled out. Windows are shown in the platform timezone with the length written out, so there is no timezone arithmetic to do.

Worth knowing

  • You can dismiss the heads-up, and you will still be told when it starts. Waving away the days-ahead warning does not suppress the "maintenance in progress" banner — that dismissal was for the warning, not for the outage itself.
  • Unplanned incidents are a different thing. This covers maintenance we schedule and announce in advance, not unexpected outages.
