We'll warn you if WhatsApp has no payment method for you

If WhatsApp doesn't have a valid card for your account it will refuse to deliver your messages. We now tell you that plainly, before your messages start failing, and offer to sort it out with you.

Finding out your card wasn't set up because your campaign silently stopped delivering is a bad way to find out. Now you'll know first.

What's new

  • We ask WhatsApp directly — if it tells us no valid payment method is attached to your account, we say so in as many words: Add a payment method. Previously we could only guess at this from a stalled account review, which misses the most common case — an account that was fine for months, then the card expired or was removed.
  • Before your messages fail, not after — the old warning could also arrive the moment WhatsApp started rejecting your sends. That's too late to be a warning.
  • Wherever you'll see it — on your channels list, on the channel itself, and during setup.
  • Your account's card status, plainly — each channel's account health panel now has a Payment method row: linked, or not.
  • Or let us do it with you — the card is added in WhatsApp's own screens, not ours, so we can't press the buttons for you. If you'd rather not do it alone, the warning links you to our team and Guided Onboarding.
  • We only say it when we're sure — if WhatsApp's answer is about something other than payment, we don't guess and we don't warn. A warning you can trust is one you'll read.
