Type @ to drop in a variable
The variable picker now opens on @ instead of {{, everywhere you write a message — and in an internal comment, one @ offers your teammates and your variables together.
@ is what everyone already types when they mean "show me what I can put here". So that's what it does now.
What's new
@opens the variable list — in the chat message box, an internal comment, a canned snippet, a template's variable boxes, a broadcast, an appointment reminder. Start typing to filter, then ↑/↓ and Enter, or just click.{{no longer opens it. You can still type a variable out by hand — a{{contact.name}}you type yourself fills in at send exactly as it always did. It simply doesn't pop the list open any more.- Nothing you've already written has changed. Saved snippets, templates, broadcasts and reminders carry the same variables they always did, and send the same way. Only the way you reach for one is new.

@won't eat your Enter — the list appears, but pressing Enter still sends your message. Write "email me @ 5pm" without the picker getting in the way.
In an internal comment, one list does both
Tagging a teammate and adding a variable used to be two different keys. Now @ shows People first, then Variables, in a single list — and you can arrow all the way down through both. Tagging works exactly as before, including the notification the person gets.
