React to Instagram messages, with typing and seen
Add an emoji reaction to any Instagram message, and let customers see you typing and know when you've read theirs — just like WhatsApp.
Instagram chats now carry the same lightweight signals as WhatsApp — emoji reactions, a typing indicator, and read receipts.
What's new
- Emoji reactions — hover a message and pick an emoji to react (tap it again to remove). Reactions used to be hidden on Instagram; now they work the same way they do on WhatsApp.
- Typing indicator — while you're writing a reply, the customer sees that you're typing.
- Seen — opening a chat marks the customer's messages as read.
Typing and seen follow your existing read-receipt and typing-indicator settings, so if you've turned those off, nothing is sent. Reactions need the conversation to be within its 24-hour reply window.
