Do more in your Instagram chats — media, buttons and your own posts
Reply to Instagram DMs with photos, videos, voice notes and documents, add tappable quick-reply buttons, and share your own posts straight into a chat.
Your Instagram replies are no longer text-only. The composer's + menu now lets you send pictures, files and voice notes, add tap-to-answer buttons, and share your own posts — the same rich replies your customers expect.
What's new
- Photos, videos, voice notes and documents — pick a file or record a voice note and send it right from the Instagram composer, just like on WhatsApp. Instagram's own size limits (up to 8 MB for images, 25 MB for video, audio and documents) are checked before anything sends, with a clear message if a file is too big.
- Quick-reply buttons — add up to 13 tappable buttons under a message so a customer answers in one tap, or add an Ask for phone / Ask for email button that Instagram fills in from their profile.
- Share your own posts — a new Share a post option opens a grid of your recent posts; tap one to drop it into the chat so the customer can open it.
All of this works whichever way you connected Instagram, and — like every Instagram reply — needs the conversation to be within its 24-hour reply window.
