WA.cr

Link the Stripe account you already have

If your business already collects on Stripe, you can approve WA.cr against that account instead of opening a second one and starting your payment history over.

Released 4 September 2026

Until now, connecting Stripe to WA.cr meant letting us open a brand-new account for you — so a business already taking payments on Stripe had to leave its history, saved customers and payout schedule behind. You can now point WA.cr at the account you already own.

What's new

  • Your own Stripe account, in Settings. Open Settings → Payments and look for Your Stripe account. Choose to link an existing account, approve WA.cr on Stripe's own screen, and you come straight back connected. Nothing is re-entered and nothing is re-verified — it is the same account, with the same payouts, still yours.
  • The same choice for a Partner. If you run a white-label platform on WA.cr, the wallet page now offers I already have Stripe alongside opening a new account, so plan rentals and workspace recharges can settle into the account your business already uses.
  • Opening a fresh account still works exactly as before. If you have no Stripe account, or you would rather keep this one separate, the guided setup is unchanged and stays the default.

Worth knowing

  • This is your business account, not the in-chat payment rail. Linking it here is about your own website and, in time, your Storefront orders. Letting a customer pay inside a WhatsApp conversation is a different setting and is unaffected.
  • A test account cannot be linked to a live workspace. Stripe tells us which set of keys an approval was made with, so a test account approved into a live workspace — or the reverse — is refused at the moment you link it, rather than looking connected and quietly collecting nothing.
  • We keep no keys of yours. Linking stores your account's identifier and nothing else; there is no access token sitting on our side to leak or expire. Disconnecting is a matter of removing WA.cr from your Stripe account.
  • You may not see the option yet. It has to be switched on for your environment first. If Your Stripe account is not offered, it has not been enabled on your workspace.
