Each store can keep its own opening hours
Describe the places your business actually has — stores, and the departments inside them — and give each one its own opening hours, with bookings held to the hours of the place they are made at.
A workspace used to be one place with one set of timings. Now it can be as many places as you really have, each keeping its own hours.
What's new
- Settings → Stores and departments — name the places your business is made of. A store is a place people go to; a department is a part of one, like a service desk or a clinic room inside it.
- Hours per place, and only where you mean them — give a store its own opening hours, and give a department inside it different ones. A department you leave alone follows its store. A store you leave alone follows the workspace. Nothing you never filled in starts refusing anything — silence still means "no opinion", exactly as it does today.
- Bookings follow the hours of the place they are made at — where a booking venue belongs to a store or a department, its page offers only the times that place is open. A time you are shut for is simply not there, rather than showing up as already taken.
- The desk is not held to it — somebody standing in front of you at 19:30 asking for 20:00 gets it, because a booking taken in the console is deliberately exempt. Your public page, WhatsApp, the assistant and the API all keep to the hours.
- An Auto Flow rule can name one store — an Opening hours rule can now ask about a single store or department instead of the whole workspace. A rule naming a place you have since archived quietly falls back to the workspace answer rather than shutting anyone out.
- A name that stays put, and nothing lost — the handle for a store or department is chosen when you create it and does not change afterwards, like every other handle that can end up in a link. Places are archived rather than deleted, and a store cannot be archived while departments still sit under it.
What you'll need
This is part of the Enterprise and Partner plans, or available as the Units add-on. If you would like it switched on, just ask us.
Linking a booking venue to a store is something we do for you at the moment — the venue form does not offer the choice yet. Tell us which venue belongs where and we will connect it, and its booking page will start following that place's hours straight away.
Still true
Turnaround time after an appointment may still run past closing — it is the appointment itself that has to fit inside your hours, not the tidying up afterwards. And if you only have the one place, nothing about your booking page or your hours has changed at all.
