Clear a chat, delete single messages, or delete a whole conversation
New cleanup controls in your inbox — clear a chat's messages while keeping the contact, tick and delete individual messages, or delete a whole conversation from the list.
Released 11 July 2026
Tidy up your inbox exactly how you want — clear a chat, remove a few messages, or delete a whole conversation.
What's new
- Clear chat — in an open chat, the ⋮ menu now has Clear chat. It wipes every message in that chat but keeps the contact, assignment and lists, so the conversation carries on as the same thread if they message you again.
- Delete individual messages — open a message's menu and choose Delete. Tick the messages you want, then delete them together — handy for clearing test sends or mistakes.
- Delete conversation — the full delete (the whole history) now lives on each chat in your conversation list: open its menu and choose Delete conversation.
- A quick heads-up — these remove messages from your WA.cr workspace for your whole team. They can't remove the copy already on the customer's phone.
- Kept safe — clearing or deleting a conversation asks for a WhatsApp verification code first, and needs the Delete permission (an owner grants it under Settings → Roles). Your billing records are never affected.
