Call a customer from the inbox
Open a phone-line conversation and ring the person you are reading about — we call you first, then connect them.
Released 16 August 2026
A phone-line conversation now has a Call button. Ring the customer you are reading about without copying their number anywhere — your phone rings first, and we connect them once you answer.
- Call from my phone — we ring your mobile, you pick up, and we dial the customer and join you. Your workspace's number is what they see.
- Ring a teammate — the same thing, but the first phone to ring is a colleague's. Handy when you are reading a conversation somebody else should handle.
- Send to the call menu — ring the customer and hand them the call menu you built for that line, with no one needed on your side. Available on lines whose carrier supports it.
Your phone rings first on purpose: calling the customer and then going to find a human leaves them listening to silence, which is how a number ends up reported as spam.
Every call shows up in the conversation and in the line's call history, with who placed it, and is billed exactly like a call that came in. We check your wallet and that we carry calls to that country before anything rings, so a call that cannot go through is refused up front rather than half-placed. Nothing is charged for a call nobody answers.
Placing a call needs the manage channels permission — reading a phone conversation does not.
