A WhatsApp cart answers itself

When a customer sends you a cart from your WhatsApp catalogue, it is now priced and answered automatically — with a payment request in India, or a priced summary anywhere else.

Released 17 August 2026

A customer browsing your WhatsApp catalogue can put things in a basket and send it to you. Until now, somebody had to open that cart, work out the delivery and the tax, and reply by hand. That happens on its own from today.

The moment a cart arrives, it is priced with the rules you set under Settings → WhatsApp Orders — your delivery charge and your tax, or the live rates from your own WooCommerce or Shopify shop — and the customer gets an answer straight back in the chat:

  • In India, that is a payment request they can settle without leaving WhatsApp. One cart stays one order, whatever happens with the payment.
  • Everywhere else, it is the same priced order written out as a message — the basket, your delivery and tax, one total in your own currency — followed by your own instructions for paying. You can also add a checkout link from your connected shop, if you would rather they paid there.

If the basket has to be posted, your customer is asked for their address first, and the parcel is priced once you have it.

Nothing is sent that we cannot price properly. A cart with an item missing a price, or one your shop could not quote for, is left for you in Orders exactly as it is today — with the reason recorded, so you can see what it was waiting on.

You can turn the whole thing off, or park it, for any workspace under Settings → WhatsApp Orders.
