Opt-outs and audiences
Build a broadcast audience and let contacts opt out so you only message people who want it.
Good broadcasts go to people who want them, so WA.cr lets you build a clear audience and always skips anyone who has opted out.
Steps
- Open WA.cr and go to Broadcasts.
- Start a new broadcast or open a draft.
- Open the audience option.
- Choose a label or segment to include.
- Check the contact count it shows.
- Confirm the audience to continue.
How opt-outs work
When a customer asks to stop hearing from you, they are marked as opted out. From then on, they are automatically left out of every broadcast, even if they still carry a label you target. This keeps your messaging welcome and protects your number's reputation. You can see who has opted out in your contacts.
Keep audiences relevant
Use labels and segments to send each message to the people it suits. A tighter audience means fewer opt-outs and better replies.
If it doesn't work
- If a contact still receives messages, check whether they were actually marked opted out.
- If your audience looks too large, add a label filter to narrow it.
- If a contact is missing, confirm they have not opted out.
