Connect your Google Calendar by signing in
Connecting a Google Calendar is now one Sign in with Google button instead of an afternoon in Google Cloud, and everyone on your team picks their calendar from a list rather than typing its id.
Released 18 August 2026
Connecting a Google Calendar used to mean creating a Google Cloud project, switching on an API and copying two long secrets into WA.cr. Now it is one button.
What's new
- Sign in with Google. Open Integrations → Google Calendar, choose Sign in with Google, approve WA.cr on Google's screen, and you are connected. There is nothing to create, nothing to copy and nothing to keep safe afterwards.
- Pick each person's calendar from a list. In Settings → Appointments → Google Calendar, everyone on your team now chooses their calendar from the ones your connected account can see — by its name, the way it reads in Google. It used to ask for the calendar's id, which is a long string most people have never seen.
- Calendars you can only read are marked. If your account can see a calendar but not add to it, the list says so, rather than letting you choose one that quietly cannot hold a booking.
Worth knowing
- Anyone left unchosen still gets their bookings. They are written to the connected account's own calendar instead of being skipped. Choosing a calendar for each person is still worth doing — the busy check only blocks out times for people who have one.
- Setting up your own Google app is still there. If you would rather the sign-in screen carried your own business name, or you want to connect a robot account you share calendars with, both are under the advanced options and work exactly as before.
- You can disconnect whenever you like, from the Integrations page. Nothing is written to your calendar until you switch on the appointment settings that use it.
