What's new
- Claim a username — open Settings → Channels and pick a handle (like @yourbrand) for your WhatsApp number. Each number can have one username.
- Reserved suggestions — we show names WhatsApp has reserved for your business, which are more likely to be approved. Claim one in a tap, or type your own.
- Live checks as you type — the name is checked against WhatsApp's format rules instantly, so you fix issues before you submit.
- Clear status — a badge shows whether your username is Live (searchable now) or Reserved (claimed and held for you; it becomes searchable automatically once WhatsApp enables usernames in your region).
- Safe removal — removing a username is confirmed with a one-time code sent to your WhatsApp number, so it can't happen by accident.
Claiming early secures your preferred handle. Your phone number stays visible on your profile either way.
