An address you can actually drive to

If your diary takes bookings at the customer's own address, the booking page now asks for it as a proper address instead of one open box — and offers suggestions as they type.

What's new

• The same address block you already use. A venue that asks the customer where to come now shows Country, State, City, Pincode, Address line 1 and Address line 2 — the identical field set and order the console uses everywhere else, rather than a single free-text box.
• It can finish the address for them. Address line 1 suggests real addresses as the customer types, and picking one fills in the city, state, pincode and country in one go. Nothing is locked: the field stays free text, anything a suggestion filled in can be corrected, and a customer who ignores the dropdown simply types their address as before.
• You get the parts, not just a sentence. The address is still kept as the one line your confirmations, reminders and calendar invites already print, but the city, state and pincode are now kept alongside it — so a route or a delivery area can be worked out later without picking apart something typed into one box.

Worth knowing

• A home-visit booking now needs a city and a pincode. A street line on its own is not somewhere anyone can be sent, and the moment to find that out is while the customer is still on the page.
• Suggestions need a Maps key. If your workspace runs on the free map service, there is nothing to suggest from, so the field stays a plain input rather than showing a search that never finds anything. Everything else works exactly the same.
• Bookings you already took are untouched. An older booking keeps the address line it was taken with.
