The form builder now looks like the form

The builder used to be a settings screen that happened to describe a form. Now it is the form — you build on the page your visitor will see.

What's new

• Reordering happens in the outline on the left — drag a question up or down and a line shows exactly where it will land, including into another section. The questions themselves no longer carry a drag handle: it fought with the card's own click target, and dragging a full-size card never showed you where it was going. Without a mouse, select a question in the outline and hold Alt with ↑ or ↓.
• Duplicate a question — from the question on hover, or from its settings. The copy lands directly below with its own field key. Its "show only sometimes" rule is deliberately not copied, because a copied rule points at the original question's answer, which is almost never what was meant.
• A question's settings open inside the question — on a raised panel under a dashed rule, so it reads as one card opened rather than two cards stacked. The field key sits beneath the question as a quiet slug you click to edit.
• A strip under the headline says which page of how many you are on, how far along, and how many questions it holds.
• The outline tells you more at a glance — each row shows what kind of question it is, a * when it is required, and a branch mark when it only appears sometimes.
• The forms list is a table you can read down a column — name over public link, status, answers, last edited. A form with no answers shows a dash rather than a 0, so the ones that have collected something stand out.
• Every row has a ⋯ holding edit, copy the public link, copy the embed code, view submissions, open the public form, and close or re-open it. The actions used to sit inline across the row, which meant no two rows ever lined up.
• The question-type picker no longer gets cut off at the bottom of a long form — it flips above the button instead. Its types are laid out as cards with the name and a hint, and the + for adding a question now appears above every question, including the first.

Still true

Publishing still freezes your questions as a version, and someone who answered version 2 still reads back against version 2 for ever. Renaming a question still updates its field key only while the form is a draft — on a published form the key stays put, because changing it would orphan that question's column in every response you have already collected.
