Connect your AI assistant to WA.cr (MCP)
Let Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or your own agent read conversations, look up contacts and reply on every channel in your WA.cr inbox. Sign in from the assistant, or paste an API key — the same permissions and masking rules apply either way.
WA.cr runs an MCP server at https://mcp.wa.cr, so the AI assistant you already use can work your inbox: find a conversation, read what the customer asked and reply on the channel they used — with the same permissions, masking and audit trail as everyone on your team.
The full list of tools and a copy-ready setup for each assistant is on wa.cr/mcp.
Two ways to connect
Sign in (no key). The Claude apps (claude.ai, Desktop and mobile) and ChatGPT connect by signing in to WA.cr:
- In the assistant, add a custom connector with the address
https://mcp.wa.cr.- Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
- ChatGPT: Developer mode → Create connector, and choose OAuth.
- The assistant sends you to a WA.cr page where a workspace owner or admin ticks the workspaces it may use and approves what it may do.
- That's it — ask the assistant to look something up in WA.cr.
API key. Assistants and tools that let you add a header — Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI or your own code — use an API key instead:
- Create a key in Settings → Developer. A key belongs to one workspace.
- Add
https://mcp.wa.crto the assistant with the headerAuthorization: Bearer <your key>. The exact steps for each one are on wa.cr/mcp.
Keep a key out of anything you share or commit, and delete it in Settings → Developer the moment you no longer need it.
Stay in control
- See and disconnect. Every signed-in assistant is listed under Settings → Developer → Connected apps. An owner or admin can disconnect one there, and its next request fails at once.
- Same rules as your team. The assistant can do only what its access allows. A member who sees masked phone numbers sees them masked through the assistant too.
- On every plan. Signing in works on every WA.cr plan.
Good to know
- One signed-in connection can reach several workspaces — tell the assistant which one you mean.
- Assistants that send messages or change data should ask you before they do — keep any "approve each action" setting your assistant offers switched on.
- The Gemini app on the web can't add custom MCP servers; Gemini CLI can.
